The Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Conference celebrated its 70th Annual Conference in 2021.
Early plans were to hold an in person event at the Spokane Convention Center. As the Delta Variant of Covid-19 began to cause serious concern, the Board quickly made the tough decisions to pivot to a virtual event.
The Board members, staff and volunteers quickly pulled together plans to produce a recorded version of the Opening Session and Lifesaving Awards filmed in Spokane. Then they worked together to coordinate and produce nearly 40 online sessions over a 4 week span. Hundreds of attendees joined the virtual sessions in real time and the recordings are available to registered attendees through the end of 2021.
Plans are already underway for what we hope to be an in person event at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center September 27-29, 2022. If you are interested in joining an industry planning committee, please reach out to conference staff for a connection to your industry’s Board representative.
