The 17th Annual (and first virtual) Agriculture Safety Days (ASD) is specifically geared to hazards faced by agriculture workers. This year we were unable to gather in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that did not keep people from attending several different workshops, all offered in English and Spanish. We wrapped up with over 325 people gathering online to learn, and share valuable workplace experiences that will help workers stay safe and return home when the work day is done.
One of the biggest highlights was the “highest ever” attended workshop at an ASD event, the “Panel Discussion on Leadership”. This session collected a diverse group of Pacific Northwest agriculture professionals who shared their unique paths to leadership within the industry. A great big shout out to Luisa Castro, Fabiola Gonzalez, Jacqui Gordon Nunez, Victor Bueno, Eladio Gonzales, Pedro Serrano, and the Moderator, Christian Ramirez. We look forward to continuing this conversation again at future events, and when it’s safe to gather in person again.
