The 15th annual Construction Safety Day (CSD) took place on March 29, 2023 at the Mattress Firm Showplex Center, WA State Fairgrounds, Puyallup. This was the first CSD hosted in person since 2019 and we were glad to be back together.
Throughout the day attendees took part in sessions on relevant topics such as Residential Fall Protection, Learn Faster than We Fail: Root Cause Analysis for Construction, Trench and Excavations Gone Wrong, Newest Innovations in PPE Basics, and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events.
An annual highlight of CSD is the scholarship awarded to someone in pursuit of a career in workplace safety & health. This year there were two recipients, Cynthia Gross and Surafel Muche. Both students will use the funds to further their education in occupational safety and health and/or general construction safety.
