Congratulations Cynthia Gross and Surafel Muche – The winners of the 2023 Construction Safety Scholarship! Every year the Governor’s Industrial Safety & Health Advisory Board’s CSD Planning Committee provides a $1,250 scholarship to assist eligible students in furthering their education occupational safety and health and/or general construction safety.
“Having worked in the safety industry for a period of time, this scholarship will help to enhance my career trajectory through the Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Risk, Insurance, and Safety Management at CWU. I enjoy analyzing and assessing situations and am good at recognizing risks. I care about personal injury and am concerned about unnecessary property losses. “Scholarships have a significant impact on my educational and professional development. Firstly, financial assistance can help me cover the cost of tuition, books, and living expenses, which can alleviate the burden of debt and allow me to focus on my studies. It allows me to focus on school because I don’t have to worry about balancing work and school.
