Washington’s first of two Agriculture Safety Days was held in Yakima on February 7, 2018. Another enthusiastic turnout this year with 363 people in attendance! Each of these one-day training events promote workplace safety and health and are specifically geared to hazards faced by agriculture workers. This year in Yakima we saw engaged positive energy, networking, and collaboration by passionate attendees with a shared mission of worker safety and prevention.

The highest attended workshops included subjects such as Machine Guarding and Conveyor Belt Safety, Heat Related Illness, Hearing Protection and Eyewash, Sexual Harassment Prevention and Supervising for Safety.

A special THANK YOU goes out to the event sponsors, Washington Farm Bureau and Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) of Washington.

On February 28, 2018 we will host the same event at the Wenatchee Convention Center. Space is still available, register now at https://www.gishab.org/w-asd.
