President’s Message 2024 | Justin Molocznik

To my fellow Board of Directors, GISHAB Volunteers, and community of Occupational Health and Safety Professionals,

We are officially in full swing of the 2024 Conference year! To date, we have successfully completed both sessions of Agriculture Safety Day (ASD) and most recently, the first combination Maritime/Construction Safety Day (MSD/CSD) event. As your newly elected 2024 Washington State Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board President, I am filled with a sense of optimism and determination about the opportunities that lie ahead. Things are moving quickly as we prepare for Tacoma in early fall, but rest assured the state of our board, planning committees, conference staff and our non-profit financials are as strong as ever.

As we set our sights on the year ahead, I am confident that we are well-positioned to build upon our successes of previous years and overcome any obstacles that may arise as we prepare for the culmination of our efforts in Tacoma. However, as we continue to move through the year, let us not forget the importance of our mission as an organization to “promote safe and healthy working environments for the people of Washington State by providing education and outreach programs”.

As board members, you have been appointed by the Governor’s office, as volunteers you are serving a calling that impacts the lives of workers in Washington State. It is important to take time and reflect on these things. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to each member of the board, conference staff, and volunteer for your unwavering dedication and stewardship. Your strategic insights, diverse perspectives, and steadfast commitment to our organization’s mission are invaluable in the pursuit of our organization’s mission. I would also like to recognize the partnership with Washington State Labor and Industries, which without their support would make our organization’s goals impossible.

Thank you for your continued trust and confidence in our leadership team. Here’s to a successful and rewarding year ahead!

Justin Molocznik MS CSP CHST
